A SUCCESSFUL ANNUAL FORUM CLOSED THE HUNGARIAN PRESIDENCY OF THE DANUBE REGION STRATEGY

The 6th Annual Forum of the Danube Region Strategy, titled ‘A Secure, Connected and Prospering Danube Region’, was held on 18-19 October in the Budapest Congress Centre. The conference was jointly organized by the Hungarian Presidency of the Strategy and the European Commission. More than 1200 participants from 29 countries had the possibility to meet and discuss a number of strategically selected topics.

The two-day Forum put a strong emphasis on discussing the challenges and perspectives of energy security, clean connectivity and infrastructure development. Furthermore, it also aimed to find ways to better integrate the non-EU countries participating in the EU Strategy for the Danube Region so that they have greater access to the Strategy’s funding opportunities and benefit further from its implementation.

On the margin of the Forum, an Exhibition was also organised, where Priority Area 2 and the DARLINGe project both had a booth and both of them were highly popular.

The DARLINGe project also participated at the capitalization workshop organized by the Danube Transnational Programme. The Thematic Pole 8 (DARLINGe, ENERGY BARGE and 3Smart projects) held a fruitful discussion moderated by Mr Pál Ságvári, Priority Area Coordinator of PA2.

The outcome of the discussions regarding the above-mentioned topics can be downloaded here:
