DANUBE REGION GAS STORAGE MODEL TO BE PRESENTED IN THE NORTH-SOUTH GAS WORKING GROUP
Szilárd Árvay, advisor of Priority Area 2, will take part in the next meeting of the North-South Gas Working group in Brussels. The Priority Area 2 was granted as observer of the regional group, in order to channel the common position of the Danube-countries to the WG.
On the 17th January, the preliminary results of the Danube Region Gas Storage Model will be presented in the Working Group. The study aims to answer two major questions as follows:
1.) Is there sufficient natural gas storage capacity in the countries of Danube Region to provide security of supply and necessary flexibility for the national markets?
2.) Can missing storage infrastructure (if there is any) on the national level be supplied on a regional basis in the Danube region? Is the emergence of a regional storage market possible?
Final results of the study are expected in late February, 2013.
