FIRST TRAINING PROGRAM OF THE PRIORITY AREA 2 TO THE REPUBLIC OF MOLDOVA ON THE EU’S 3RD ENERGY PACKAGE

Following the Fact Finding Mission of the PA2 in January, the first training program for the energy sector of the Republic of Moldova is taking place in Chisinau on 26-28 February, 2013. The knowledge transfer training program is the first in the series with focus on energy regulation issues in connection with the EU’s 3rd Energy Package. The first panel will focus on the independence, tasks and necessary statutory powers of the regulator. For the parallel meetings, groups will deal with the questions of market building for gas and electricity and cross-border capacity calculation and congestion management. Other areas will also be covered such as supporting competition in the energy sector and possible regulatory interactions.

Regulators, experts and delegates from national firms from EU MSs will be present in order to share their expertise for the benefit of the Republic of Moldova. From the Moldovan side, lead experts from the Ministry of Economy, representatives of the regulatory authority and the relevant energy companies will attend the training.  The Priority Area 2 will be represented by István Joó and Szilvia Nagy.

The next training session is going to take place in late March.
