The project financing conference was organised in Budapest in the Mercure Budapest Buda Hotel on 12 November 2018.

Organised by the newly established General Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (General Department responsible for Water Diplomacy and responsible for EU Strategy for the Danube Region) the project financing conference has already been held the third time in Budapest. Mr Gábor Jenei Head of Department, in his welcome speech highlighted, that the macro-regional strategies will have an increasing role in the programming of the EU funds following 2021 and that the involvement of non-EU countries in the macro-regional processes is crucial.

In the frame of the conference those funds, which offer new funding opportunities in 2019, have been presented. Representatives of  H2020 and LIFE programmes, the Danube Transnational, the Interreg Europe and Interreg Central Europe programmes explained the 2019 possibilities. The presentations were focusing on the main strategic areas of cooperation and also brought out the expected opening periods of the 2019 call for proposals.

It was presented, that the next call for proposal of ‘H2020’ programme will be opened between 14 November 2018 – 9 February 2019.

The next opportunity to submit a fresh ‘LIFE 2014-2020’ bid for funding, will be the 2019 Call for proposals which is expected to launch in April 2019. The LIFE programme is the only EU fund, which directly offer possibilities in Environment, Nature Protection and Climate change fields.

The ‘Danube Transnational Programme’ third call for proposal, which will be a two-steps approach, is expected to be opened by the end of 2018 or beginning of 2019. The call documents are already available on the website.

‘Interreg Central Europe’ fourth call for proposal will offer funding possibility to the already running 85 projects, and aiming to create synergies and utilize their results. The call will open in spring 2019.
