The 8th Annual Forum will cover topics of particular importance for the Danube region: connectivity and regional mobility, economy, ICT, environment, tourism, links between Macro-regional strategies, EU mainstream operational programs and the new Cohesion Policy. The second day of the Forum will be dedicated to post-2020 EU policy design, with a focus on the role of DTP and EU mainstream operational programs for the region. An emphasis will be placed on the possibilities of creating better synergies between macro-regional strategies and EU programs and policies in the framework of the new Cohesion Policy. Discussions over new opportunities for enhancing funding for macro-regional strategies will also feature in the program prominently.
The event will allow stakeholders to take stock of EUSDR progress and at the same time become involved more in shaping the Strategy’s future by sharing concrete proposals for the final stage of EUSDR’s Action Plan Process of Revision within the Public Consultations that will be organized by the Romanian Presidency and COM.
The Forum will be preceded by a Ministerial meeting that will take place in the morning of the 27th of June, where Ministers responsible for Economic Affairs of the participating countries will share views and provide strategic guidance for enhancing competitiveness and economic convergence in the Danube region. Other important side events such as: workshops on the capitalization of DTP projects, Danube Participation Days and other side-events. A Public Consultations on the new EUSDR Action Plan, organized by the Danube Startegy Point in cooperation with RO Presidency of EUSDR and DG Regio, will take place in the margins of the Danube Participation days and the main findings will be discussed within the Forum.
